Active Life Member Jimmy Jones officially joined CMFR on September 29, 1980, his 18th birthday. He was active in the department before then but there wasn't a junior program at that time. He completed the 40 hour Basic Firemanship School through Blue Ridge Community College on August 26, 1980. Active Life Member Jones is the longest continuously serving member of the department with 27 years of service to date. He serves as the Communications Officer and Webmaster for the department and has served on the Board of Directors since the mid 1980's. Active Life Member Jones also serves his community as a Transylvania County Deputy Sheriff currently assigned as the Court Security Supervisor.
